THE IMPACT OF ICT IN EMPLOYER RECORD KEEPING AND SALARY PAYMENT IN ADAMAWA STATE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to evaluate the impact of ICT in employer record keeping and salary payment in Adamawa State civil service commission. Specifically, the study aims to examine the purpose of ICTs in the practice of records keeping in Adamawa State civil service commission, examine the role of ICT in the timely and regular payment of salary in Adamawa State civil service commission and recommend strategies that could improve the use of ICTs in the practice of records keeping and salary payment in Adamawa State civil service commission. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 77 responses were validated from the survey. From the responses obtained and analyzed, the findings revealed that ICT have an impact on employer record keeping and salary payment in Adamawa State civil service commission. The study thereby recommend that  awareness and orientation campaign on proper record management be carried out to enlighten every institution, or departments and on the benefits of using ICT in payrolling of staff salaries. Also, there should be adequate power supply to fasten and improve operations.
